Liquid Gang

Having already made a name for themselves via a reputation for raw, no-holds-barred performances and a stellar pair of releases (Fantastic Pirate Satellite and Nineteenth Soul) on Gotham Records, Philadelphia's Liquid Gang has stepped into the major label spotlight with Sunshine, their debut album on Gotham/Lava/Atlantic.

Liquid Gang delivers a new sound to their audience on Sunshine. While their urban feel and hard-nosed riffs are still present on tracks like "Blunt Force Trauma" and "Show Me," Liquid Gang displays a gentler side on much of the new album. Jose Maldanado's lyrics take a tender look at life on songs such as "Closer," "Ready and Able," and "Rain." Meanwhile, the rest of the band breathes new life into the music by creating a softer, more melodic feel.

The evolution of Liquid Gang began in 1997 with Fantastic Pirate Satellite (EP). The album combined a progressive pop sound with the beginnings of what would become a strong urban influence. Along with four innovative original tracks, Fantastic Pirate Satellite includes a killer remake of Rush's "The Working Man."

In 1999 Jose Maldanado joined the Liquid Gang fold, and the band released their first full-length album, Nineteenth Soul. The result was an incredible hard rock album that caught the attention of many. Nineteenth Soul reached the top 20 on FMQB's Metal Detector, and Album Network's Aggro charts. The urban flair that Liquid Gang developed on Nineteenth Soul remains with them to this day, as is evidenced on Sunshine.

Liquid Gang continues to leave their mark by touring. During their career they have opened up for the likes of Korn, Rob Zombie, Disturbed, and Stone Temple Pilots among many others. It's not a stretch to imagine Liquid Gang headlining arenas for themselves in the not too distant future. Liquid Gang continues to achieve success by improving themselves through evolution. They have already come a long way, and they're just getting started.
